Let’s Use an Artist’s Photograph for Our Painting

Artwork from other creators inspires us to achieve new and interesting results in our workflow.

I’m Veronica Huacuja (pronounced wu-a-koo-ha), a professional plastic artist and a seasoned online art teacher. (1)

MINDFULNESS
We began our session with our mindfulness exercises. As usual, we used acupressure as the technique.

This practice enhances our physical, emotional and intellectual state. It, too, creates a wonderful environment for learning and practicing art in a group.

AN INTERESTING DYNAMIC
We researched the work of art photographers who caught our eye. And among all of us, we decided in which work of art we would work. This time we used the photograph of Toby Burrows, an Australian photographer. The work is from his series Nothing to Lose. (2)

Each member of the group developed their own version. As they did so, I provided both group and individual guidance based on their needs. Similarly, I developed my version of the exercise, sharing my progress on the screen with the participants. Now, I present my work.
